About Michael McGuire

Michael has worked as a journalist for 30 years in Adelaide and Sydney. For the last 15 years he has been a writer for The Advertiser’s SA Weekend magazine, covering all sorts of people, places and issues. He has also worked for the Sunday Mail and The Australian. Somewhere in between there were a couple of forays into state and federal politics.

There have also been two books. Never a True Word, his first novel, is a satire about politics and was published by Wakefield Press. Flight Risk, an action adventure thriller, was published by Allen & Unwin.

Other stuff

Michael is married to Rachel and they have two children, Tom and Ruby. He is also somewhat devoted to Celtic, the Sydney Swans and the Redlegs. His turntable often spins with David Bowie, Johnny Cash, Dusty Springfield and Nick Cave.
